Do I Need A Doctor's Referral To Schedule A Visit?

Physical therapists now have “Direct Access.” Which means physician’s referrals are no longer required to receive therapy. The majority of insurances will pay for physical therapy without a referral. Please contact our office at (225) 749-2065 to schedule an appointment.

How Do I Prepare for My Initial Visit?

You should arrive 10-15 minutes early to complete necessary paperwork unless told otherwise. The first visit involves a one-on-one evaluation between the patient and the physical therapist. The therapist will then write a plan of care for the patient’s treatment and rehabilitation.

Also bring your medical records pertaining to the reason of the visit, such as MRI reports, x-rays, etc., Insurance Card(s), valid form of Identification such as a driver’s license, a list of any medicines the patient is currently taking, including over the counter and prescription, as well as the dosage and frequency, a form of payment. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and HSA/HRA, as well as cash and checks. It’s also a good idea to prepare a list of questions, in reference to your condition, to ask while you are in the evaluation with the therapist. Patients that are 17 or younger will need a parent or guardian.

Will I be covered by insurance?

Every insurance plan varies. Our office will check your benefits, but we recommend the patient to check their benefits as well. Please see the list of insurance companies that we are in-network with here. If you do not see your insurance company listed, please call our office at (225) 749-2065.

If you do not have insurance Dynamic Therapy, LLC has a self-pay option.

How often will I need to come to therapy?

Most patients receive therapy 2-3 times per week. The frequency of the patient’s visits depend on the injury, the therapist will complete a plan of care accordingly.

What should I wear?

Please wear comfortable clothing which allows you to comfortably move while performing exercises. Clothing must also allow access for treatment of the injury. If you are unsure of what to wear on the treatment days, ask the therapist what they recommend.
